Friday Night Chill Session

It's another Friday night as I start to type this. I'm on the Gawler Central train heading North. The train is at Dudley Park for a few seconds before moving on.

It's been an interesting week and I am looking forward to a weekend of genuine, pain free, relaxation.

I say "pain free" but that's somewhat relative. A few days ago I pulled a lower back muscle from opening the sealed door of massive portable freezer called a "reefer".

altAlways have a reefer, buddy?

For a few days I couldn't walk properly, getting out of bed was a nightmare and picking up anything below knee level was unthinkable.

The pain has dulled to the point where I can walk unhindered, pick up objects with only the smallest amount of hesitation and get out of bed with the merest of muscle twinges.

Workin' It!

I'm still grinding multiple jobs, and tonight I was selling tickets to an AFL (Australian Football League) game. The cheap general admission tickets were all sold out leaving the ultra expensive tickets left which mean that people wod just walk away disappointed more often than not. Rather embarassing for international tourists.

The supervisor had a go at me because my phone had rung during the shift. I'd hung up the phone immediately, but it was loud enough for to comment on when I came back from a toilet break.

I'm waiting for there to be a passive-aggressive email sent to all employees about the importance of not having a phone on during shifts, in two weeks.

It will be in all capital letters too. Then I'll know he's a snitch and can't be trusted.

During the week I was still cleaning up after the Gluttony festival for the the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

altCleaning duties

I also had a shift setting up a pavillion for a VIP function.

The irony is that I could have picked up work for the fucntion itself but for some reason the parent company didn't get back to me before 9:35pm the night before so I cancelled it.

I also cancelled two shifts this weekend at music festival out at Seppeltsfield Winery. I can get as far as Gawler Central by train but after that there's no public transport and very little in the way of taxis, which would be a rather expensive exercise.

I do have a friend who agreed to drive me out there if we were working together at the same time, which is good.

Right now I am focusing on becoming a lot more frugal, but just this once I had a little splurge.

Dinner was a porterhouse steak, medium rare, with chips, salad and gravy.

I probably won't be doing that again for a while.

Now to just unwind, chill out and give my body the rest it deserves.

Thanks for reading.

Until next time...
