Exactly one year from today has passed since I visited the largest aquarium in Croatia with my wife and sons, located in the city of Karlovac, 60 km from the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, and exactly 255 kilometers from my home.
The children wanted to go so much because many of their friends had been there, so we decided to visit this marvel and see if it was really as amazing as everyone said. And truly, it was even better than that.
At the entrance of the Aquarium, there is a beautiful surrounding area and a coffee bar integrated into it, where we naturally sat and had a coffee after a long journey.
Then we embarked on our adventure. We bought tickets and started descending underground. Although it was over 30 degrees outside, the aquarium was very comfortable, naturally, because it is located underground.
The aquarium features numerous tunnels, and everywhere you look, there are fish of all kinds from all over Croatia, whether marine or freshwater, something truly beautiful. There are even marks on the floor indicating where to stand for the best photos, but we did most of it our own way.
We spent more than 2 hours in the aquarium, and the children went for another tour because they liked it so much. Meanwhile, my wife and I bought some souvenirs, like fridge magnets and, of course, a coffee mug with the Aquatika logo for ourselves.
After that, we sat down for a coffee and waited for them for a good hour and a half, but the most important thing is that they were happy because you don't visit something like this every day.
Although I know quite a bit about fish, I didn't know everything when I read about each fish on the glass panels there, so I learned a few new things too.
If you ever pass through Karlovac, you must visit this magical place and the friendly staff of Aquatika.
