When I was 3 years old
The best place to be was my mother's arm
The perfect time was when i had ice creams and lollipops on my hands
Dancing under the rain with my hands spread out wide
Jumping on the bed naked with dreamy emerald eyes
In the beach with family, building castles with friends.
When I was 7 years old
Had dishes to wash, and rooms to sweep
No more jumping on the bed as I got so many home works
Preparing for school in a sweet sunny Morning.
When I was 12 years old
Puberty knocked at the door, I opened
Changes, mood swings, less appetite
Standing in front of the mirror looking at body changes
Harmattan my favorite season of the year
Left my lips all white and parched.
When I was 16 years old
Hated home cause I no longer had friends that came visiting
The whots are all lonely in their cards
Had phone with me all day long
Fighting insomnia and depression
Waiting the day I'd be free.
When I was 18 years
Freedom knocked on me
I drowned in hard liquor
Stayed the nights outside
Had money and lots to waste
Forgetting school, went astray.
When I was 22 years
School closes it's door against me
Everything and anything stands before me like grass
Time to face life like an adult
Still drowning in liquor
Lost in a place very dark, lost track of time.
Now I'm 26 years old
Finally found a place I can call home again
My child, my family, my home
Responsibility knocked on me, I ran away
I walk down the train tracks alone.
Thinking every moment would be better than the last
I've spent a thousand nights trying to figure where I went wrong
Overthinking my life, I'm hitting 27 soon
Should've done things better.
When I'd be 30 years old
I'd be solemn enough to take life serious
After damaging many years past
When I'd be 30
I'd be in chapter 3 where the 0 won't be found
All mistakes are being cleared.
