Yomigana Converter

The tedious part of typing Japanese lyrics into a score was never writing the words. It's converting all the kanji into hiragana and splitting everything into syllables by hand. Yomigana Converter does exactly that job, and it costs nothing.

You paste the lyric card into the left box, set a few options, and hit convert. What comes out the other side is hiragana with half-width spaces between syllables, ready to drop into Sibelius, Finale or MuseScore, or any tool that takes space-separated lyric input. The little は↔わ and へ↔え toggle buttons are a thoughtful touch for Vocaloid-style vocal work, where the spelling that reads correctly isn't always the spelling that sings correctly.

The options cover the details well: leave katakana unconverted, join the small ゃゅょ or the っ onto the previous syllable instead of splitting them off. Everything runs client-side, so what you paste never leaves your machine, and it works offline once loaded. For a free tool that deletes a genuinely annoying step from the workflow, it's hard to argue with.
