Yesterday I spent an hour researching my investment options, trying to figure out which is the best way forward. Options are always plenty, but not all of them are good and if you want to maximize your profits, not just choose one that is apparently good, you need to do your homework and do it well.
I've always been good with numbers, that's my area of expertise, but when you're dealing with so many influencing factor, you need to take everything into consideration. National currency is backed by government promises, and when you had four governments in the last five years, you can already guess how those projects and promises these governments made have been fulfilled. Inflation in my country is among the highest in Europe, indicators are going from bad to worse and buying power of local currency is shrinking like a nice chocolate ice cream on a hot sunny day.
For starter, I could have booked an appointment with the bank's consultant, but as I have a couple of decades experience working with them, knew I would only get a few tips and definitely not a thorough analysis of all the available option, so why waste my time, right.
Instead I had an 1 hour session with AI and got everything I need. Yes, we are living in the AI era and I can't deny it, it's an amazing tool, if you understand what it says and know how to use it. The truth is, at the end of each reply, offers further options, suggests that it could calculate and estimate for you a potential outcome, so you have options to choose from, but the thing is, you still have to know what it is talking about. An analysis like that, would have taken me a good few hours as gathering the data and doing the math is not a split second job, so I was really grateful to have this tool at my hand, for free.
During the past few years we've seen AI gaining more and more ground, which is a good thing in a way, but bad as well in so many ways. Getting everything on a silver plate has its disadvantages and many can't see it.
You have almost any text translated to almost any languages, which is why a good part of people are not learning any languages as why would they? You can have speech translated and can understand what the other is saying in any foreign country. Images can be generated in a split second, so many are not even bothering with taking photos and learning a skill as why would they, as they have AI to do the work.
Not long ago I saw an article, which I can't find now, unfortunately, talking about some world organization working on implementing real time AI translation so countries won't need a translator anymore. At first glance it looks like fantastic news, but I wouldn't want to be in their shoes honestly, as I am not sure you can trust AI at this point, 100%. When it comes to legal terms, an area where one comma can change the meaning of the sentence and getting it wrong can cost you dearly, I'd rather rely on a human translator, than AI.
Obviously AI usage is optional and I don't think we're going to get to a point where it'll be mandatory, and you need to know when to use it and when it's better to use your own brain, but lazy humans see this otherwise. A good part of the population is going to become even dumber, unfortunately. The rest is going to take advantage of the available options, use it to learn and sharpen their skills and get more independence by not hiring third parties for different services.
There's an opportunity here, to get more skilled but it can make you more dependent on it and make you lazy. I guess we'll see where this goes in the upcoming future. Those who have been focusing on shortcuts will definitely use it to cut corners. The rest will use it to make their lives better.
