I needed to get half the work out of the way before I could make a chart that would organize what work was left to do, otherwise the workload would completely overwhelm me.
The preliminary mixing alone is still completely overwhelming to me, but at least with guitar and vocals out of the way on 9/10 songs I feel like I can look at the task head on.
Before any of that though, I have song #10/10 to finish and so this week will be all over the place. Writing lyrics, practicing, mixing other songs myself, contacting others to assist in mixing, and overseeing the backup vocals.
I’m wearing every single hat this week.
But this basically marks 50% completion. We are in the final step between recording mode and full on mixing mode.
I am so incredibly eager to share something but we need to wait a few more weeks before we can release a single. I hope to have the three singles ready by the end of August so we can release one every 10 days and then the 40th day will be the album release, which would put the album 10 weeks away! I can’t guarantee it but that would be fantastic.
That would make the release date October 25th.
I can’t make any promises yet but that’s the goal! It’s realistic too, if we keep going at the pace we have been going at.
Today I plan to do a final cleaning up of the first single, and then re-record vocals for another song. Then if I have time I’ll do some work on lyrics for song #10.
Then tomorrow I want to clean up another 2 songs so they are ready to send out. Then the rest of the week I will focus on lyrics and complete song #10 while sending out the first 3 songs for final mixing.
Then this weekend I will oversee the recording of backup vocals on another 2 songs.
So hopefully by the end of the week, my work will be 90% finished with just some mixing remaining and the album will be about 70% finished.
I hope we can get in contact with another friend who could mix so we can get to work on multiple songs being mixed at the same time.
