First off I would like to apologize for posting this review of the festival almost a week after it happened, I had a problem with my phone so accessing my account was impossible, lost my pics also. Only some scheduled posts that went through.
Bole festival is a two days food-meet-fun summer festival in Nigeria. This is a celebration that brings food lovers from all over to honour the appetizing street food as a cultural heritage. The venue of the party is Port Harcourt city of Rivers state.
The food being celebrated Bolé is a roasted plantain dish made in Nigeria. It is also referred to as Boli in Yoruba land, that is the South West Nigeria. Normally in Yoruba land it's eaten as a snack with groundnut, but in Port Harcourt it's more filling as the roasted plantain is eaten with sauce, fish and sometimes yam.

Beyond food exhibition, Bolé festival brings a fun atmosphere that attracts all ages and social circles, which in turn creates an environment for friendships to blossom as you revel in high spirits and bond over good food.

The festival this year was really fun; with music band Cavemen and artist Ruger performing and comedians like Mr Funny, Siki, Prinx Emmanuel, etc the vibes were really there. In those 2 days apart from the live acts and the food, there are other activities and games to help you have a jovial time.

Maintaining the party as an annual event has made it to gather supporters across Nigeria and sponsors like Budweiser, LaCasera, Trophy, Airtel, MTN. It becomes a tourist site each summer bringing a large influx of people to Port Harcourt.
Even though this year's festival has passed, mark it on your calendar, next year August 6th and 7th come and have a taste of Nigerian culture fun in Bolé festival.
