And he has gone completely against the socialist, um, the socialist ideology that the president has for 20 years in Argentina. And he is turning the clear around. He's a very imperfect man, like all of us are.
Um, but I realized, uh, when he was elected that Argentina and the United States have so many things in common and they are like the, like they're the bookmarks of the continent, of the Americas. He knew ever since he was, he was elected in 2023 that there would be, um, a partnership between the United States and Argentina and all the socialist governments prior to this president hated the United States. But now there's this incredible bond that there is between Argentina.
And in a way he ignited a movement of, um, in, in all the Americas of new governments that are being new presidents that are being elected, who are against the socialism that was so widespread in Latin America. And so my pastor had like this prophetic view like I had at both of us at the same time. And he asked me every Sunday for now for a year and a half to go up to the pulpit for every service to pray for Argentina in Spanish.
So that prompted many of the congregants to interested in learning Spanish. So I have several groups that I'm teaching Spanish to, and they, the whole congregation is very committed to praying for Argentina and for the freedom of the whole continent, because the Americas was envisioned by the conquistadores and the Europeans who came to this land, exactly like the, like the, like the pilgrims to the United States, a vision to spread the gospel. And throughout all these centuries and the bad socialist governments, that idea was forgotten or buried.
And now I see that with, with these new governments, there's like a revival in Latin America. And I am very, very excited about that. I mean, that's, that's, that's something to be, that's something to be excited about, for sure.
