Hello friends,

While reading and searching through multiple different communities I decided to stop on Foodies Bee Hive community. First of all I love good food and often try many different recipes, of course if they are not complicated. The second I was planning to cook one of my favorite dish Dumplings and I though to make some pictures for you, dear friends and maybe make you also interested to cook them.

The story behind Dumplings

It is funny that when I prepare everything for dumplings that always brings me back to the time of my childhood. The reason why is simple. When I was a child my mother was cooking them, as curious child I was sitting at the table and observing that. The whole process was handmade, to prepare dough, meat, to chop onions and mix them all. My favourite part was to create the shape of dumplings and usually it took me some time. My mum said they were all so nicely, even better than adults.Who knows maybe I like it because it reminds me the time when I was with my mother and enjoyed her praises than anything else.

Later on when I became a student, of course I had to cook for myself and I also loved to cook dumplings on weekend, so that I have enough time and also just enjoy my memories.

Today I wanted to share with you these very moments that are dear to me.

What do you need:

I usually do it very simple and use only necessary ingredients such as:
For dough:

  • Flour app. 600 g
  • one egg
  • some water
  • a bit of salt, depends on your taste

Filling:

  • minced beef appr. 500 g
  • 1,5 of onion medium size
  • a bit of salt and black pepper, depends on your taste
  • a little bit of milk

Here I have placed a few steps together on one wooden board. You need to cut out appr. 100-200 g of dough, make a roll, then cut into small square pieces. Those ones then will be filled with filling and closed, first like a half-moon and then two ends together to create a disc. That is all!

Here is the final preparation, the whole broad of little dumplings are ready for hot water.

I usually use a big pot, fill a half with water, add salt and bring to boiling. The the dumplings can be dropped into and cook for 10 min. then your dinner is ready.

Hope you enjoyed it, it was very delicious!

Will see you around next time,
