Today is the first of November, 2026. With only two months left in this year, it is a day of reflection for me. I am looking back at 2026 and crypto is sitting kind of flat with Bitcoin at eighty two thousand dollars and Etherium at twenty four hundred.
The crypto is actually starting to look less exciting than the technology companies that are Artificial Intelligence related. The recent drop in Google is definitely looking interesting. QQQ is up very modestly for the year.
After the recent drop Google stock is starting to look really attractive. It is down to $278 from four hundred dollars earlier this year.
Yes Google missed earnings by around ten percent, and the narrative is that Artificial Intelligence is killing the search revenue. That might be true, but on the other hand Google is still a huge brand and their Artificial Intelligence LLM models are top notch. I am considering picking up some Google shares and I believe Google is going to double in next year and outperform many investments.
Splinterlands season just finished this weekend, I looked at my SPS earnings and they were really disappointing. I got around twenty five hundred SPS for the season in modern champion league. This is down from thirty three hundred last season, which was the first season after the new modern brackets came out. And this is down from sixty two hundred SPS earned in Modern ranked league in the last season before the new modern brackets came out.
And these are the SPS earnings for placing on the champion leader board. I am going to see what this season is like and if it is the same experience I am seriously considering moving down into the Diamond league in modern.
As you can see my win rate went down to forty eight percent and the reason for that is that I fought mostly scholars and really strong bots. In fact I believe that the bots prior to the introduction of the new brackets were much easier.
I used to reach Champion One every season and now I cannot get out of third league and I was barely able to stay in the third league last season. It was not fun experience fighting mostly scholars with a rating two to three thousand points above mine or practically unbeatable bots.
The SPS token stayed relatively flat as well at $0.0039. I also see that there is a new proposal to wind down the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund. I guess that idea also did not work as a way to bring new players into Splinterlands.
Today our son came over and we spent almost six hours together, it was really nice to catch up and see what is going on in his company. His company is really big and a very profitable, but since we saw him last week a couple information technology people were laid off in his group.
And now he has to take over everything that these two people were doing... And this is not due to Artificial intelligence yet... This is just due to the general market segment where everyone is cutting jobs.
It is times like these make me glad that I work in the public sector. His job seems to be OK for now.
We had burgers from the grill and then watched a couple episodes of Alien Earth and they were a lot better than the first episode of this show. Then we had a fresh soup that my wife made today.
