Yesterday we were thinking of taking it easy, but I still ended up with almost fourteen thousand steps. We started the day with a nice breakfast at home then headed out to Langley to meet up with my brother in law and his girlfriend who were just getting in on the ferry.
They got caught in a two hour ferry wait in addition to coming from West Seattle, so it took them around four hours to get to Langley. While we waited for them we went hunting for some more sea glass that you see in the image above.
After a nice walk on the beach we got hungry and tried to stop by our favorite ramen place on Whidbey Island, but they had an over an hour wait, so we decided to go to Primo Bistro instead.
Which ended up to be a great decision as we got a nice spot on the roof top deck with a view on the water and there was no wait and the best part was that food was outstanding.
We ordered a children's meal with a burger, French fries and lemonade for our daughter and grilled Spanish Octopus as well as clam chorizo as well as virgin mohito for my wife.
We finished up with a really nice cobler with a large scoop of French vanilla ice cream. We were all well fed and ready to continue our visit to downtown Langley. We left the restaurant and saw my brother in law driving in.
We spent the next three hours hanging out in Langley, my wife had a massage at Langley Inn spa and I was hanging out with our daughter who was painting a couple pictures while sitting on the main plaza in downtown Langley.
My brother in law with his girlfriend went shopping at the local stores that lined both sides of the street. After they shopped around they came back and sat down with us. People were stopping by and commenting on our daughter paintings.
In the evening we did make it to our favorite ramen place: Ultra Ramen, the wait was much shorter just under thirty minutes.
We all had ramen and that was our perfect finish to a full day at Langley. We then all drove home where we all enjoyed sauna.
This morning we woke up, my wife made everyone fried local island eggs and coffee. Then I replaced the second air filter for our downstairs heating system and we went for a walk at our local Mirkerk Gardens.
This time rhododendron plants were not in bloom, but it was still really nice to walk around under Giant Sequoia trees and enjoy the forest and gardens. We also stopped by the nursery store and scored a really nice yellow Dahlias for only five dollars on sale. This kind of Dahlias are at least twenty five dollars at Home Depot.
