Hail to the Hive!

Today we have arrived back at Foxton Locks on our way back into Leicestershire. A friend of mine is getting married and Foxton is the closest place we can securely moor the boat near to the wedding location.

But tomorrow we must take a brief detour to Market Harborough as we need groceries and this will involve descending the 10 lock flight and then going through a swing bridge which requires a British Waterways Key to open it. Our key copy seems to not work in all of the BW key locks so I took a walk down the flight tonight to be sure it fits. Thankfully it does so we are ok tomorrow.

Of course I always have my cameras at the ready and with not a soul about and the evening light being so good, the water so still, I had myself a photo feast.

I loved the reflections in the still water with the white buildings and the clouds at sunset in these shots. This place has always been so super busy when we鈥檝e passed through before that I was amazed I was the only person around ( ok there was a couple walking their dog toobut I felt I had the place to myself )
