Waking up today we knew we were only a short way, maybe 3 hours, from where we intended to be for a 2 day pit stop. We intended to get to Fazeley Junction and we were just north on the Coventry canal so we didn’t think we needed an early start. It is a Sunday after all.
The ducks seemed to be heading in the same direction as well for some unknown reason. Why do they always seem so pissed off? Does anyone know?
We’ve chugged along this stretch of canal a few times now and it is starting to feel like very familiar stomping grounds for us even though we have only been living like this for a year.
I do like the discovery on new canals but I am also enjoying how big sections of the canal, that I would have had zero clue about a year ago, are now very familiar and I know where to pull in for a good spot overnight and where the nearby supermarkets ( and pubs) are.
With it being spring now all sorts of crops are being grown. I wonder what is in these protected greenhouse type tubey things.
We keep seeing the mini Titanic around the network. It makes me smile every time.
I need to get another tiny boat and call it Behemoth or Colossus just for fun.
Ok this is the home stretch we are nearly there now.
And here we are. This is where our Badger the Narrowboat had her heart transplant back last August/September. We spent a long time in this area and it always feels like coming home.
It is a wee bit chilly but I still fancied eating my chicken and drinking my beer outside…….because I can.
