I have been an incredibly busy photographer lately, but unfortunately, it's all been real estate photography work and no landscape photography. Last night however, after another busy day, I got out for a quick sunset shoot at nearby Boca Reservoir, here in Truckee, California.
The Skyfire app was forecasting a nice sunset and lucky me, it was right! I did a lot of 4x4ing along the shoreline, looking for the best wildflower area. Unfortunately, it's not as nice out there as some years in the past, however, I ended up finding this patch of Mule's Ear wildflowers near the dam and decided it was the spot.
Photographed with a Canon 5DSr, and a 16-35mm lens. The ISO was 100, the lens aperture was f/22 (in order to get as much in focus as possible), and the shutter speed was 2.5 seconds long. It was a bit breezy out but on occasion the wind would die down and I could shoot at a somewhat long exposure without getting blurry flowers. I had a lot of photos with blurry flowers...
So, I realized I didn't take any photos of Quill Dog! He was out there with me and got a lot of running in, however I put him in the Pathfinder for the actual sunset shoot. He's not very polite sometimes and will run right in front of the camera and destroy flowers...
Thank you for looking, I hope you are all having a great day out there, cheers!
