When you travel abroad, especially to a third world country, you are immediately humbled and realize how lucky you are to come back to the comfort of a meal and a home.
I went to Haiti last year with a non profit, Fonzoke which helps women receive micro-loans (like $5/10/20 range). For us, that's a couple of Starbucks cards, for them that could be the beginning of a new life. Thanks to this, this family moved out of this hut, were able to buy one goat (again...no joke...) and support their family. This was someone's home in the "province" (= junlge) outside of Jacmel in the jungle.
Crazy idea, but what if the Haitian people were to have access to the crypto world? Strangely enough, Haiti is extremely connected. Digicel, an Irish company came in and made it possible for almost every Haitian to have a phone, yes mostly flip phones, but what if the country were to converge in the crypto world?
I'm so excited to see where Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies take us. This could solve a lot of world problems.
