A week ago I was talking to Neal McSpreadsheet and he offered up the question.
At the time ETH was just above 2500 and bitcoin was floating near 50k. Essentially, which will double first is the question.
My answer was, hell I don't care as long as they both go up!
Kidding aside though, the first thing I did was look at ETH priced in satoshi to see if it was up or down against bitcoin so far this year.
Looking at the chart I saw that ETH was in the lower end of the range from the past six months...which made me think:
Now, I had zero intention of doing this, but ironically just one week in that is looking like a good investment as ETH has rallied and BTC has not.
Granted it is just a one week move but looking at the ETH chart it is still well below last summer's level relative to bitcoin.
The bullish case for ETH is that the next ETF (whenever that happens) is expected to be ETH, thus just like the bitcoin run-up into the announcement, price will see upward pressure as institutions build bags in preparation of an ETF approval.
It does make sense. I'm probably sticking with my BTC though.
