Hello there! saydie@saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!

The number of rulesets in Splinterlands keeps on increasing, and just recently, another ruleset has been added. These rulesets are game modifiers that change the conditions of every battle for better or for worse. Sometimes, it can be your friend that will give certain abilities to your cards, while at times, it brings annoying debilitations that could cripple your team. Sometimes, it lets you have access to cards that you can't use in normal situations, but at times, it will also restrict which cards you can use, which results in you facing your opponent with a limited set of cards to choose from.

Such was the case with the newest Splinterlands ruleset, Equalized Armor, which I will be talking about in this post.

If we include all the rulesets that have ever come in Splinterlands, including both those sunsetted and seasonal rulesets, we now have a total of 83 rulesets in total, and depending on the league that you were playing, you can get battles with more rulesets for up to 3 rulesets in a match. And among these rulesets, Equalized Armor will now be included in the rotation. This is a kind of modifier that benefits card units.

With Equalized Armor, the initial Armor of all Units is equal to that of the Unit on either team with the highest base Armor.

With that being the case, it might be more advantageous for a player to use their units with the strongest attacks, particularly magic units, since their attacks can pass through most armor, and if the opponent chooses to use melee or ranged units, you likely will have more advantage because you can directly attack their health while they are still trying to melt your armor.

On the other hand, you can prepare against magic attacks by using units with Void Armor, so similar to melee and range units, they need to deplete all the target's Armor before they can damage their health.

But you also have to keep watch because there were certain Archons and units that could use their armor to attack your cards through the ability Armored Strike, where the damage they could inflict was equal to their armor.

In situations where you have no choice but to reduce all the armor of your opponent before you can damage them, the best way to easily melt their armor is to use units with shatter, because with just a single attack, the armor of the target will all be gone, regardless of their target.

However, if you want to sustain the armor of your cards, a good way to do it is to bring units with Repair ability that can restore up to two armor to an allied monster.

At the same time, if you want to reduce the amount of armor that the opponent can restore, you can use cards with the Corrosive Ward ability, so that when the units get hit with Corrosive Ward, the attacker loses 2 armor for each turn.

And those were some of the moves that you can employ when all units have the same amount of armor. In my opinion, Equalized Armor can be a really fun addition to the modifiers that are currently included in battle rotation, though it can also lead to super long battles with all cards getting armor, so there could be battles that players won't enjoy.

Thank you, and see you on the next post!
