Starpics Photographer Interview
1.Can you tell us about yourself briefly?
I am Dr. Tanvir Ahmed Rakib. Currently working as Medical Officer in a hospital.I live in Chittagong, Bangladesh. I love photography. Four years back I started Photography as a hobby. Now it’s a part of my life. I can’t think a day without photography.
2.Can you tell us about what you are currently working on?
As I am a doctor I get very little time for Photography. Basically I am a freelancer. But now a days I am working on “Reflection”-theme based photography. I am also working with a photography based online store. Where I sell my photographs according to clients needs.
3.What made you decide to be a professional photographer?
To be honest I am not a professional Photographer. I have lot to learn about photography. I prefer to call myself a Amateur photographer rather than a Professional photographer.
There are 5 levels of Amateur photography. I think I am at level three and half. So I have to go another 1.5 level to become a professional photographer.
4.What’s your photographic style?
I mostly do conceptual, Landscape photography and Photo art. I like to do experiments with photos.
5.How do you educate yourself to take better pictures?
I educate myself by watching lots and lots of photos. The more you see photos of different genre the more you can learn. Moreover, whenever I see a beautiful scenerio or go to a place I like to visulize that from the photographer point of view.
6.What kind of gear do you use?
Camera body : I use Canon 60D.
Lens 18-135mm and prime lens 50mm
Flash : YN-560 III
I also do Mobile photography. I use iPhone 7 with External lenses.
7.When do you feel happy as a photographer?
I feel happy when I see people are loving my photography and I am able to give some happiness to them through my photos.
- What was your most memorable experience in this photography field?
I have 2 most memorable experiences in this field.
One when some of my photos (about 10 photos) were featured in one of the daily newspapers of our country.
Other one is when one of my photos were exhibit in an international photo exhibition held in Finland. It was my first international photo exhibition outside my country.
9.What would you say to people who would like to be professional photographers?
I just want to say “Don’t hurry, be passionate”
It’s a long journey. Just stick with it,work hard and you will get something great.
10.Do you own a website or social media account to share your artistic works? Would you like to tell us?
Yeah I own a Facebook page. Named “Rakib’s Photography”.
I started it 2years back. Now it has about 7000+ likes. I share most of my works in that page also in my personal Fb Account.
Lastly I just want to say something to all the Beginners who wanted to be a Photographer. Owning a expensive Camera or a photography page doesn’t make you a good Photographer.
It’s all about the Photos. So just enjoy the Photography, feel your lens and u will get the result. :)
