 มัลเบอร์รี่ หรือ หม่อน มีอยู่ 2 ชนิด ครับ

ชนิดแรก
หม่อน หรือ มัลเบอร์รี่ ที่ปลูกไว้รับประทาน ผลเพียงอย่างเดียว มีชื่อทางวิทยาศาสตร์ คือ Morus nigra L. ผลสุกจะมีสีดำ ผลมีรสเปรี้ยวอมหวาน สามารถนำมารับประทานและแปรรูปเป็นผลิตภัณฑ์ต่างๆ ได้ครับ

ชนิดที่สอง
หม่อน ที่ปลูกไว้ในการเลี้ยงตัวไหม ชื่อสามัญ White Mulberry ชื่อทางวิทยาศาสตร์ Morus alba L. หม่อนชนิดนี้ จะมีใบขนาดใหญ่กว่า. ออกใบได้มากกว่าชนิดแรก นิยมใช้เป็นอาหารเลี้ยงตัวไหม ผลหม่อนชนิดที่สองจะมีขนาดเล็กกว่าหม่อนชนิดแรก เมื่อผลสุกจะมีรสเปรี้ยว รับประทานได้แต่ไม่นิยมเท่าชนิดแรกครับ
