My name is Sara. I have been married for 3 years and am a proud mother of a 14 month old son who has given life an entirely new meaning. He is energetic, spunky, and exudes a happiness that is infectious. In the last year I have learned what true sleep deprivation is and my limits are tested daily. Before becoming a mom I prided myself on professional accomplishments and continuously strived for advancement. Priorities have shifted and now I trade in long work days at the office with other children for being at home chasing a crazy toddler around the house. I never understood when people told me that being a mother was the most important job in the world, and now that I am a mother- I finally get it. I chose a career that has more challenges than successes, but the victories are priceless.
I first experienced working with a child on the autism spectrum while pursuing my undergraduate studies in Psychology. I was immediately intrigued by the positive impact of Early Intervention and the subsequent change observed in the trajectory of my client’s prognosis. Upon completion of my Bachelor’s degree, I began working with an Non Public Agency to further my technical experience and education in behavioral treatment. It was not long before the passion I found in working with individuals on the autism spectrum, clearly solidified my career path. I enrolled in and completed a Masters in Human Development to further enhance my education and clinical experience and subsequently pursued and successfully obtained my certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst in August of 2014.
I have a White German Shepherd, who is commonly mistaken for a wolf, and an obsession with the Bulldog Breed. I enjoy binging on Netflix and reality TV to decompress after a long day. I firmly believe Rose (sparkling that is) is always a good idea and if in doubt, buy the shoes!
