Yesterday, some special relatives came from Karachi city and it was necessary for me to go and welcome them.
A traveler has their own importance which is necessary to understand and when you go to welcome a traveler they become very happy. Especially if it is a close relative, they become even happier and do not feel alone.
In this world we should strengthen our relationships and stay connected with each other. Because true happiness is in these relationships.
Unfortunately this modern world has kept us so busy that we have become distant from each other... Now we leave for work in the morning and reach home at night where we are so tired that we do not even have time to spend with our relatives and family...
If I talk about myself I am very good and cheerful with my relatives. I try to meet at least one relative every day whether they are on the way when I am going home or they come to my house.
And especially if I get the opportunity to go and welcome a traveler that is a plus point for me. I am always active and ready for it.
Yesterday on the 14th of August, my sister, her son and brother-in-law were arriving from Sharjah to Karachi To Quetta. They had gone there for some work, and when they were returning, I told some of my relatives that we would go to welcome them.
So, my maternal uncle, my sister's father-in-law and some of my friends left for the airport.
We planned to leave home towards airport at 1 PM and we will reach there at 1:30. Their plane was scheduled to land at 1:45...
After reaching the airport, we waited for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Then we saw our relatives, my relatives, starting to come out from inside the airport and many passengers also started arriving.
We welcomed them. We brought flower garlands, showered flower petals over them and also presented them with bouquets. Especially when someone returns from Ziyarat, our tradition is to welcome them very warmly and enthusiastically.
These people were also returning from Ziyarat. Their journey was from there to Sharjah then from Sharjah to Karachi and from Karachi to Quetta. A long distance.
They received a wonderful and warm welcome. We met them, asked about their well being, helped them get into the car and then headed back home.
At that time the weather was extremely hot with temperatures around 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
After traveling for about half an hour we reached home where we invited them and some of my friends and relatives for lunch.
Talking about the lunch we had delicious saffron rice, chicken jalfrezi, vegetables and beef kofta.
To help beat the heat, lassi was also served which is considered an excellent drink in our culture. It is made by mixing yogurt with water and salt and mixing it well until it becomes lassi.
We really enjoyed these delicious foods and drinks. After spending some time chatting and talking together, we returned home.
It was a wonderful and busy day and you can also see some pictures from the day.
