Celebrating my birthday with the kids

Today is my birthday and I was analyzing how our perceptions changes over time. There was a time, when there was lot of expectations from me. Priorities were different over time - take care of parents and brothers initially. Then after marriage, busy with the upbringing of kids - and time flied. A lot of dreams , lot of hard work to make them real, some of them succeeded, some of them failed. But we ( our generation) were probably already adjusted with how to deal with failure, given that we were brought up with lot of difficulties. I accepted my failures, worked harder, and today I feel fulfilled - My brothers are established, parents are happy and healthy, kids are now grown up and today they made cakes for me to celebrate the birthday at home in these lock down period.

It gives great pleasure when your kids do something special for you. I was really amazed the way they prepared these cakes at home. I am sure, they have learned one thing from us - having pleasure in doing something for parents - the very existence which brought us into this world.

Life is sometimes hard, sometimes enjoying - we have to enjoy both. It's like having a black and white period vs Colored. Priorities change over time - today health is the first priority - expectations have lessened. Prescriptions are more important than certificates, but still we love to live - to see our kids cherish, guide them to face every situation in life and move on.
