Keeping the house clean is a responsibility that every member in the house has on him/her, but sadly, it is forced upon the female member of the house. Now, I am the one who is responsible for the house chores at my home. I admit I am not a very clean person, but I do work hard to keep the things at my house at their designated place and also keep it dust free to ensure my kids get a clean and safe environment to be in.

But, turns out like my level of cleaning is not something my mother in law likes. She went on telling every living soul in the street that we live about how dirty I was. Some were invited home to check the level of cleanliness I maintain. I was really embarrassed and one day I decided to tell her to stop her crazy behaviour. I asked her what her problem was and she told me that I could clean better, I said her that I really try hard and there is nothing that I can do more.
My husband jumped in with a solution and told her that she could clean her room a second time after I was done to keep it clean as she wants. She didn't seem satisfied, but agreed. I have no issues with her cleaning her already clean room for the second time, I agreed.
Now, she cleans things that are already clean. She gives the dishes an extra rinse and wipes the spotless kitchen counter along with her sparkling white floor of her room. If you are wondering what is the harm, then, she has been telling those living things in my street about how she is spending her day doing things that are supposed to be my duty. Those people feel pity in her and curse me for resting the entire day and getting the work done by this poor lady.
I tried keeping the kitchen counter dirty to see if she would clean it, then no. She is smart enough to not waste her energy to much.
