I don't fancy cooking. I am a foodie, but I don't like to make my own meal. I was married at 19 until which I had just made instant noodles. I don't drink tea or coffee so never attempted making those, there was never a need for it. I was happy living with my parents demanding what I needed to eat.
However, my mother in law, for some reason assumed that a 19 year old who was just out of school and was always living with parents, would be an expert at cooking when she herself admitted that she didn't know to cook even the basics at 24 when she got married.
So, I was at this new house where everyone thought I was good at cooking whereas I didn't know to make tea or coffee. After the relatives left, my mother in law demanded that I make tea for her and I dialled to my mom to ask the recipe for tea. I did as instructed l, but it turned out to be stronger than she liked. After a while she instructed me to make a cup of coffee and when I was dialling again she caught me red handed. I spiller the beans and told her that the only thing I can do without anyone's help is boil water and she was shocked.
Following weeks were he'll because she pretended that we have duped her. She then decided that she would not help me and I will have to learn everything by my own. I guess that was the best thing she did to me because now she cannot claim to have taught me anything. I can now make a decent meal and keep my family healthy and nourished.
Cooking is definitely an art, not everyone can master it, but can definitely learn it.
