Compatibility is an important pillar of any marriage. But, are all couples compatible. Well, it is believed that people who get married for love are bound to be compatible, but I personally believe that it is not true. There are innumerable cases wherein a newly wed couple seperate for compatibility issues even after knowing each other for several years. Couple who get married through arranged marriage setup have their own battle with compatibility.

Back here in India, marriages happen for money and family background. No one checks if the two individuals who are supposed to live with each other for the rest of their lives are compatible with each other. It is believed that staying with each other for a long time with make them used to each other and compatibility Wont be an issue. Lucky are those who make peace with their partner and those who don't end up blaming each other for their failure.
My friend's marriage was arranged by her parents with a boy of their choice. While she wasn't ready, her parents argued that the guy belonged to a respected family and earns well. She had to give in to her parents decision and the marriage was fixed after just 2 casual meetings and few phone calls. It all looked good initially, but turned out the boy is an introvert and wants his wife also to be one. She lost her bubbly self and was slipping into depression. Her husband would not talk to her for days.
However, there was no way out. She was counselled by her parents who told her that's how life is and every thing would be good after kids. She took the advice and is now a loving mother to two beautiful kids. Her husband continues to be the same. She finds her peace in her kids. But, is she happy in her marriage? Well, not really. She would have been happier if her husband would complement her. The marriage didn't break, but it is not a happy one.
The fate of most arranged marriages in India is same. People just make peace with their partners because divorce is a taboo.
