in the calendar
of my soul
all the sunlight,
the joy of running
in the rain
where did they go?
tomorrow will come
and you will not be here
where did you go?
a day in a time
of a month in a year
all the anniversaries
of heinous deeds
gone, blotted out
of natural time
gone like chibok girls
dapchi-ed by time robbers,
terrorists of history
they fight corruption
by looting our treasury
with snakes and monkeys
not satisfied,
they want also
to loot our memory
so we don't remember
the evil in the North-East
and the shame in the South-East
kidnappers of time
feeding the populace
with history depressants,
if you steal my lips, can you
stop time?
you see,
time will remember. . .
Glossary: Chibok is a town in North East Nigeria.
Chibok girls are school children who were kidnapped by the terrorist sect - boko haram in 2014 and some have not been released till date.
