When I saw The Numbers Series by @dreemsteem available for review in the Hive Book Club / Dreemport / Scholar and Scribe Collaboration this week, I felt sure it would already be taken! Fortunately, I saw the challenge post a mere 3 minutes after it was published and I managed to snap up this beauty!

Anyone who has read @dreemsteem before will know that many of her characters are both raw and beautiful. They draw you into their lives so that they become a part of you, and you feel a part of them; you share every emotion as you join them in their individual journeys. Very few authors can touch me with their writing in the way that she does.

She is an artist, carefully handpicking her words (and numbers), and weaving them into wonderful tapestries. Her readers are led in whichever direction she chooses. She makes them think and feel as she wants them to... and with her... less is always more... and then boom! She flips the narrative!

So, it was with this mindset that I opened the Numbers Series and started reading...

And I was not disappointed. The Numbers Series is comprised of 3 parts: '38', '72', and '37' - to be read in that order!

Dreemsteem uses the trilogy to explore the mind, heart, and soul of her female protagonist. One who is trapped in an apparently hopeless cycle of despair, where contemplations of suicide appear to her to be her only solution and means to escape the nightmare that is her experience of the world. Where trust and faith have been thrown to the wind.

As we progress through this 3-part masterpiece, we see the introduction of a key character in the form of David, who is intent on guiding her back from the edge, and helping her to choose life, but he knows the choice has to be hers. Will he be able to reach her? Will He succeed, or will she?

So, how good are you with numbers? Care to find out?

To say anything more about this story, would be to create a list of spoilers, and ruin it for future readers. But you all deserve to enjoy this one!

Suffice it to say, Dreemsteem never does things in half measures. Numbers indeed! This allegory is a nod to the greatest story ever told. Bravo Ms. Dreems.
