When it comes to business the typical rule book goes out the window. ⠀

Our whole lives we are raised to believe that you need a college degree, money, and knowledge to pretty much do anything.⠀

Truth be told, you really don’t need any of that. This much is true for owning a business or starting some type of project. ⠀
⠀
All you need is action, drive, and the resilience to pick yourself back up if and when you fail. ⠀
⠀
I just literally woke up one day after my God Son spent the holidays with me last year and decided I was going to write a children’s book that would cover the topic of addiction. ⠀

Since I got off heroin my God Son would often spend holidays with me and constantly ask me questions about addiction. ⠀
⠀
Though he is older I could only imagine how awkward it is for parents to talk to their young kids about addiction. ⠀
⠀
My whole life I have struggled with reading and writing due to dyslexia. ⠀
⠀
So, I thought one of the best ways to combat this would be to write a book. Mind you, I had no idea how to go about doing this.⠀
⠀
All I had was action! I immediately put a rough draft together and then started doing research on how to actually write a book. ⠀
⠀
I didn’t care about how to get the book published. I just cared about getting the project underway. I figured it out as I went through the process. ⠀
⠀
Did I screw up in different areas? Absolutely!⠀
⠀
But I didn’t let that stop me. ⠀
⠀
I just kept going, trying, researching, and asking for help.⠀
⠀
In the end, I ended up publishing my first book and that became an Amazon #1 New Release in Children & Drug Issues.⠀
⠀
If you have a dream or an idea… don’t let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. ⠀
⠀
Don’t listen to the rules and create your own path.⠀
⠀
Just remember, FUCK THE RULES. All you need is action, drive, and resilience.⠀
