Exploring My Environment - A Visit To The Bakery

I woke up this morning not feeling very worky, tired from the weekend stress, I called off my Chess coaching for some kids and decided to rest from work today. I decided to start my daily engagement on Hive when I saw a post by @dmilliz, There is no business like home business which talks about a bakery which is being run from the owner's home. It's a very interesting read. While reading, a hungry me remembered;

There is a small bakery nearby I have never been inside...

So I decided to visit and also get my breakfast there, take pictures and show my environment. I hope it's an it is an interesting showcase.

My Journey From My house To and Fro Via words and Pictures

The pictures above show my doorstep and my compound. I took them immediately I wanted to head out to the bakery. If you look closely there is a mast pole close to the house, it's an annoying one for two reasons. One, It's too close to the house and it scares me that a blowout would be too terrible and secondly the mast pole belongs to a telecommunication company (MTN) which means the network connection is meant to be fast! But yet it's still slow a lot of times. That's Nigeria for you! Many things are out of place, No light even in Government areas and many more. Well this isn't a rant so, let's move on. My place to the bakery is less than 100 meters, so there were not much I observed on my walk, but all I did,I tried to capture the pictures.

I just noticed how unkept my surroundings are, the waste passage is filled and the drainage is bad, there is a lot to be done along the road, hopefully, things change. There also, in the second image is my friend, a shoe cobbler, who does repair shoes, though it's a small ordeal, he is pretty good, we had a chat for a while, then I continued my walk.

HAPPY FOOD BAKERY

The bakery as shown in the picture is located beside the road, it has an upstairs which I suspect that where the baking takes place. I entered and noticed how small the place was, I guess because it's still new so they don't bake so much. I took permission to take pictures from the cashier asking her if it is okay and also telling her I would purchase my breakfast here too.

The store had little or no bread around 10am in the morning which doesn't look good. I thought maybe its all been sold and i didn't meet much and there were a lot of empty bread spaces. Contrary, there was a lot of ice cream available, I did a bit inquiry from a staff there asking when the bakery store opens, she replied "9am". That tells me they don't bake much bread which is understandable as many probably don't come around. It still look decent as you could see some varieties which are only sold in some big bakeries there,although a, little quantity here and there.

I must also mention that the staff there are nice and well organized, Another reason why I was able to take pictures and move around freely. I was so hungry and since it was close by, I decided to pick what to eat and told the staff that i will return some other time.

I took two hotdog bread and a cup of ice cream and headed back home.

Breakfast Is Ready...

The hotdog bread was very cheap and the ice cream too, and I can say it was worth the price. With this in mind,I can say I have a very good breakfast spot now. I enjoyed every bit of it. I will find out more about the bakery and probably put it into writing again.
