Greetings!

Places of worship are sacred places and holy places where people go to worship their God. It's a spiritual clinic for all that have one spiritual problem or the other and to me, if there's no place of worship in a community, then that community is a spiritually dead community which if care is not taken, the society would not be able to withstand any other opposing spiritual attacks.

Although, people have turned away from what the worship centre or a place of worship once used to be as they have made it a business centre where they now cash out at will, neglecting the tenet or the purpose of what it used to be in the past.

Now, the church like I earlier said is a transactional centre where people make transactions of all kinds. Recently I read a news article in one of the national newspapers where a pastor was said to ask a member of his church to leave his church if he cannot up his offering and tithes.

For these reasons, I would like to delve into the topic of the prompt in the Hive learners community which is all about, “Taxes.”

If I should air my take on the content of the topic in this featured contest, what I would suggest is that the worship centres or places of worship should be made to pay tax. They should not be exempted from paying tax and this to me is not far fetched, it's just because the worship centres are making reasonable amount of money from their congregation and instead of some of them to be helping their members, they are just amassing the wealth to themselves alone and I think why the government has exempted them from paying their taxes or necessary dues was because, the government had thought or are of the opinion that anything made in this worship centres would be used to take care of their members which would help to reduce the responsibilities of the government, but now, the reverse is the case. Although some worship places are doing the right thing, many of them are culprits.

Another perspective of mine on this matter is that, I don't see anything wrong in the places of worship paying their taxes and this is because, if they should pay their taxes, they would also help to boost the state economy which I believe would even help their members in living fine.

After all, Jesus Christ in the scripture says that we should give unto Caesar what belongs to Caesar and I am of the school of thought that the payment of taxes by the worship centres is what belong to the government in order for them to develop our society and just because they are worship centres doesn't mean they should not give what belong to the government to the the government.

I know that people would be like, are their members, I mean the worship center members not paying their taxes, yes, they are paying, but to me, that doesn't stop the places of worship from paying their dues to the government as they are also making money as well.

This is my entry to week 241, episode 02 of the weekly featured contest in the Hive learners community.

Thanks for reading.
