Taxes
Taxes are Levies imposed by the government on the public or on an organization
The government does these just to generate revenue from these activities that at the end of the day they will help the economy
Taxing is not the issue, the issue is the people they are taxing can they afford it or are they supposed to be taxed
The church is a place where Christian come together to worship and some of these places are not genuine, greedy individuals open worship places to exhort money from people that has little all in the name of religion
Religion has taken our sanity to the point that we do not know when people are actually taking from us the little we have
For example some of these place of worship make money from these places by building schools and owing private jets while their members feed from mouth to mouth
If churches are to be taxed not all of them but some of them
While I was in Lagos my former place of worship we were few not up to twenty and after each service we do not generate revenue of above hundred thousand Naira, from that money we buy fuel for the activities of the week,pay our dues to our head church and at the end of the day we have little or nothing to hold on to .
Imagining asking us to pay tax just like big church out there what will be left of us at the end of the end day we will be owing the government
If churches are to be taxed let not all churches pay tax
Let only those that have other business attached to the church to pay taxes because a place of worship is not a business place
Those churches that have school both primary secondary and tertiary institutions should be taxed
They need to pay tax because all these businesses attached to the church is not part of the church they are extraneous variables
Meanwhile No one is above paying taxes but what government should look into is give everyone a tax according to the generated revenue. Some churches are small while many are big though this does not stop any of them from paying taxes both small churches or big ones but what government needs to do is to place tax on them according to their generate revenue.
Like i said no one is above tax even the churches we have because that is also a way of them using to support the government and also help the economy so that the common man can also benefit from it . Though it is true that we live in a part of the world where we questioned our generated tax but no answer to our question instead things keep getting worse day by day and not that the government is not making enough tax but because they don't want to use it for what it has been made for .
In conclusion, everyone should pay tax both churches currently are like they are the ones generating more money and these taxes should be place on the so as to also help the common man it can also be his own benefit from the church .
