Success does not just jump on random people from random places, there are works that need to be done first before success can come. No matter what your thoughts are and no matter how much you have dreamt, you can only substantiate it by putting work towards it. It is work that results into success. No one can promise you that success can be delivered on a platter of gold to you, but when you get your hands engaged in work, then success will be attained.

There are many people who believe in luck or maybe something happening by chance, but one thing to know is that luck is amplified by work and chance is also enhanced by putting yourself to work. So instead of living your life waiting for chance to happen to you, you should do something to make it happen: that is, you should work. Obviously, there is dignity in putting yourself to work and there is a feeling you get when you have worked to achieve success than when you are hoping that things will fall into place for you. It is either you work and run your day in your desired way or the day runs you over.
One of the reasons of working is to be better for ourselves. You will observe that when you are trying to become better through work, everything within you and around you will also become better. Obviously, you will agree with me that one of the reasons why people wake up in the morning and then go to work is because of the hope of a better tomorrow. That means that as long as hope is sustained, then working is not an option but a mandate. As long as what you are doing is legit and legal, then there is dignity in it and you should keep at it. This reminds me of these popular quotes:

Whatever your hand finds to do, you need to do it put in your best towards it.
You may be hoping for a giant stride but it should start from a small step. In this context, even if the preferable job that you dreamt of is not available, you can make the available to be preferable. You can start from the point at which you are even if it means starting small, but one thing you should strive for is to get better with time. You will agree with me that many things that you have mastered at this point were what you started as an amateur. Of course, no one gains mastery without starting from somewhere. The work that you have at the moment, you have to put in your best towards it and grow from there.
Success is a product of going an extra step in the pursuit of one's dreams. If you do what everyone does and take the same steps that everyone does, then the result that you will get will not be different from what everyone has. If you want to have an entirely different result when you are giving a shot at your dream, then you have to try differently. Achieving success requires not just any type of work but work that is geared towards achieving of one's dream: result-oriented work. This is the kind of work that focuses on the solution and not on the prevailing problem.

What differentiates wishers from workers is that the former sees challenges in every opportunity thereby making them to have pessimist view of the world, while the latter sees opportunities even in the midst of challenges, no wonder optimism is their watchword. You will not know the result of an action until you have taken the action. Even if you take an action towards the line of your dream and the result did not play out as desired, you should not see it as a failure, but rather see it as that you are making attempt. This is because you must have learnt a couple of other new things to make your next attempt to be better with a better result.
Work is something that one should be proud to engage in. However, one very important thing to note is that your work is what fills up a greater percentage of your present life, so engage in the work that you believe in. This is because you have more zeal in going after what you believe in than doing just any random thing.
