It is worthy to note that going into relationship is not like going into a business venture where your only purpose is to make gains. Many people have the mindset that relationship is only seek for what they will gain from a relationship. If this is the case, then the term "relationship" would have been non-existent, rather it will be termed "parasitism". The benefits of relationship is when both parties bear one another's burden and enjoys one another's victory together.

"Togetherness" is the very purpose of relationship. That is; unity of minds, unity of purpose, unity of the soul. There are more things to look out for when going into a relationship than just what your eyes can see on the outside (like the beauty), except you do not have the future in mind. Trust me, many people may flirt with you based on your beautiful or handsome looks but when they want to get serious, other considerations will come into play.
The first consideration is the attitude and character. Many people run into hitch in their relationship because they are only focused on the outward looks. Imagine what you expect from someone that pays more attention to their own appearance more than their attitude. When you be with them, how will you expect them to pay attention to you or be sensitive to issues of the relationship?
One thing with facial or bodily beauty is that they will degenerate with time but it is only the beauty of the character and a good attitude that will live beyond time. If you allow beauty to becloud your sense of reasoning, what will happen when the beauty goes?
When you need a sincere advice or idea from your partner, you will understand that there are many things that does not answer to beauty. This is not to disregard bodily or facial beauty but to also try to build your character, your attitude, your intelligence, your skills etc, because these will matter well in real life issues.
Asides that; when going into a relationship with someone, always have their humanity at the back of your mind. With this, you will not enter with the mindset for only what to gain out of it but what to bring to the table too. When both of you share responsibility (it may not be monetary, maybe an idea, an advice etc) then the walls of the relationship will be strengthened, knowing that your partner is also a contributor, not just a consumer. Remember this popular adage:
The hand will only become clean when the right and the left hand cooperate to wash themselves.

This is exactly how a relationship should come out strong. The both parties should agree to cooperate, because that is why it is called "relationship".
