Everyday as we live, every human is faced with a form of risk or the other and some of these risks borders on finances. There are many unforseen factors that can predispose one to financial risks and which, if not managed properly, might lead to financial losses. Obviously, the world we live in is ladened with infinite risks which become riskier as the days go by. This is the reason, in this era, a lot of people have witnessed untold financial crunch that has never been seen before. So here, we shall take a look at ways in which one can effectively manage their finances to limit the likelihood of losses and other financial challenges.

1. Assets/ wallet diversification

This point has been stressed so much because of the importance it holds. A few months back, a friend of mine had his crypto account compromised because of a phising link he clicked in the course of filling an airdrop. Before he knew it, the wallet was emptied and all the assets in there were gone. However, before that time, he already created other crypto wallets and moved his major assets into them, and then left that one for only airdrops. So when that account was compromised, he did not lose all of his assets because he had diversified.

This world is already full of uncertainties and these include financial uncertainties. If he had not diversified his assets into other wallets, he would have been hit massively and his life's savings would have been gone. This is why you have to learn to spread your assets across many platforms and not just one. Even outside the crypto world, you should also learn diversification. When you are acquiring stocks, physical assets, or even saving your funds, you should not centralise them in one place but learn to diversity.

2. Learn early maintenance

I will use myself as an example here. A few months back, one of the doors to the house started giving off unusual sound when opening and closing. I ignored it. Then after a while, I noticed that one of the hinges was about loosening. Well, I thought to myself "I will fix it later." That was how I kept procrastinating what I should have done. Then one morning, as I was about opening the door, the hinge went completely off and it fell. At this point, I now have to call a carpenter and paid for both his services and his transportation fare to the house to fix it. This was what I would have totally avoided if I had knocked it back when I noticed it, and I would have saved the money.

More often than not, early detection and maintenance will save you from going through the financial stress of replacing it when it becomes irreparable. This also happens in the human body. Many people overlook early symptoms and when it becomes utterly bad, they will now spend heavily on emergency medical services. So in other to manage financial risks, you have to learn maintenance culture.

3. Save and invest

These two combos can become someone's salvation against the days of financial challenge. The truth is that you cannot be too careful in the financial space, you only need to brace up yourself for impact. Someone that consumes everything that he earns without making provisions for savings is obviously taking a big financial risk. This is because if a financial need arises or an unforseen emergency condition comes up that will need urgent financial involvement, there will be nothing to fall back on.

On the same hand, when you are saving, also remember to take a part of it for investment. This reminds me of what a friend once said; "saving secures the present, while investment secures the future." However, before you invest, it is absolutely important for you to undertake extensive research, so that you will not end up blowing up your financial assets and money. More so, when investing, always try to diversity, as we have considered in the first point. This will give you more financial buoyancy and will limit the events of risks. In conclusion, even though you may not be able to prevent financial risks completely, you can set somethings in place and undertake some financial obligations that will limit the effects of the risks.
