No matter how bad someone treats you, it is left for you to reciprocate or not. However, reciprocating evil with another evil does not make you better than the person that has done evil to you but you can show your supremacy by paying evil with good. Always remember that paying evil with evil can never and will never make both of you right but wrong.

Doing good to people is not dependent one one's background, neither is it a gift but it is purely on choice. This is because offenses will obviously come but what proves if you are better or worse than the offender is how you react to the offense. The battle of "wrongs" can only be won with "right" and not with another wrong. In life, two negatives will not always make a positive. Not everything is subjected to the law of physics.
Someone might do you wrong and your reaction may even turn the table around and you may appear to be the wrong one. This is one of the reasons you need to be cautious of your reactions. What happens in someone's life is not entirely based on what happens around them but how they react to those things as they happen.
For you to hate back the people that hate you is to prove that they have the control of your emotions and they can control you at will. You are not meant to mirror or imitate someone else's wrongdoings. Be true to yourself and to humanity. You cannot make an impact by following after the ills in the world but by letting your light to shine in the midst of the gross darkness in the world.
The appreciation of light comes in the darkest night. In the same way, your goodness will make more impact when it is shown in the midst of cruelty, ills and depravity. Do not let the wrongs that are being perpetrated in the world compromise you and make you to tilt towards wrongdoing. Standing out and maintaining your right stand is a principal requirement to win humanity for the better.
