There is nothing that you set your mind to achieve, through determination and perseverance, that will be impossible. Throughout history, the feats that were termed impossible became possibilities when people with perseverance rose up to do the impossible. This is why I believe that everything and anything can be achieved, but only if you are able to give it all it requires. If you refuse to quit, then success is bound to be achieved. Through perseverance, dreams and aspirations can become reality.

Story was told of a young boy from a very poor background that wanted to be an artist and painter when he grew up, but his parents did not have the means to send him to an art academy. Each morning when he woke up, he will visualize some artworks in his mind and then reached out for the small poster colour that was gifted to him on his birthday and use it to make a painting on a paper. This impressed his parents and they assured him that one day, things will get better and he would go to the Prestigious Art Academy that he always wanted to.

It seemed at that point that everything was against the young boy but he did not give up on his dream. A time came when he decided to follow his father to the farm and also do some meagre jobs to raise money for his schooling but the money he was paid was nowhere near what will be required for his education. All these did not make him to give up on his childhood dreams of being an artist. In one of the days, one of the Palace chiefs was having his birthday, so he made a portrait of him (though local because of lack of materials) with his poster colour and gifted it to him.

To show appreciation the chief reach out into his bag and gave him some cash reward. He felt so happy about it and with the money, he bought admission form for the academy after he travelled to the city and back on night bus to save cost. It was not long and he was called for aptitude test which he wrote and amazingly he passed the test and was offered provisional admission into the Prestigious Art Academy. It was so amazing, but one thing remained - how he was going to pay for his tuition fees.

He intensified his hustles to see if he would raise the money and with the money given to him by his parents, he was only able to pay for acceptance fees, but the school fees were yet to be paid and the deadline was approaching. A few days to the deadline, a very renowned art legend came to their community for research for his PhD thesis and stumbled on one of the boys paintings and asked to see who painted it, because the skill was exactly what he was researching on. He was taken to their compound.

When he met the young boy, he introduced himself and when they got talking, the boy told him about his plight and his inability to pay his school fees. At that point, after perusing the young boy's works, he saw great potentials in him, so he decided to give him scholarship for his schooling. The boy could not hold back the tears of joy flowing down his cheeks because his dreams are already coming to reality right before his own eyes. That was how he started the academy and at the end of his schooling, he emerged the best in his set and he won many awards with cash rewards which he used to set up an art gallery.

Now he has become one of the celebrated artists in the state and he remained grateful to his benefactor for making his dreams come through. And of course, because he did not give up on his dream, his perseverance paid off.

As long as you are not ready to give up on your dreams and as long as you are prepared to pursue after it with the required zeal, then it can be achieved. It may not be easy at first, but it does not make it impossible. Whatever you can dream can be achieved, you only need to be committed to it with perseverance. I conclude with these words (which represents possibilities) from one of America's president and the first Black American President; Barrack Obama, when he was contesting for presidency, he said:

Yes we can
