One of the things that I have learnt in life is not to write people off. The same person you think will not become anything good in life may be who will set a precedence in the future for something amazing. No matter how bad someone may be at something at the moment, it is not an enough reason to write them off completely. You will be surprised how things can change and the same person may be good tomorrow. There is always a good side to every human which you can focus on, instead of looking at their deficiencies and shortcomings. The truth is that there is no limit to how someone can change for the better. So do not conclude anyone as being a failure or useless.

Humans have the proclivity to change in manners you cannot even imagine. In history, a lot of people that finally made marks in their chosen fields had their own moments when people doubted them because of their "below the par" performance. Take the case of Ben Carson as an instance. While he was growing up; in his primary school, he was not up to par academically. As a matter of fact, he normally came last in the class and it bothered his mum but he never gave up on him.
His mum tried to encourage him that he is not a failure and that he can still make it. She gave him some academic routines to be performing every week and that was how he started picking up. By the time he entered high school, he was already top of his class; the same person that used to be at the back. He went into medical school, finished, and specialized in paediatric neurosurgery where he made his mark. This goes to prove that everyone and anyone can make it in life no matter how they started. Ben Carson started from the bottom of the class and worked his way to the top - everyone can.
Take the story of Mark Zuckerberg as another example. When he was in college, he was told by one of his tutors that he will not succeed in life, because of his academic performance. Well, he went into programming and created his social media platform right from his room. At the present moment, he is among the top tech billionaires in the world. Not just that, both the school that did not see any good in him and the teacher that gave up on him all have accounts in Facebook - his app. This teaches the lesson that you cannot write anyone off.
Even if someone is not making it at the present moment, it is not an indication that he cannot make it tomorrow. There are many people that have been concluded as failures and they shocked the world by their success. More often than not, a lot of people's success stories are embedded in failure. The story of Col Harland Sanders proves this. He practically failed almost his entire life; from his job at the rail to the military, to his subsequent jobs. At a point, his wife left him because of his strings of failures, so he also failed at marriage too. This happened until his 60's when he started the KFC and his breakthrough came.
Everyone has their good side even the supposed worst of the humans. There is something that is deposited by nature in you that, without you, a void will be created. You need to look deep within you and discover that thing that you are cut out for; what you are built for.

You may not be built for everything, but one thing is certain, there is what you are good at doing and it may shape the kind of personality you need to be. Like the example I gave about Col Harland Sanders; he may not have been good with other things, but one thing he was good at was about cooking, and it become his success.
If someone is not living up to par or up to your expectations, instead of giving up on them over that, it will be better to help the person find what they are good at and focus on that, then it will become easier to succeed from that. It is worthy to note that someone else's strength may be a weakness for you, but there are also your areas of strengths that are other people's weakness. So do not give up on yourself, and do not give up on others.
