In our last episode, we established the fact that relationships will require responsibilities, not from one person but from the both parties, for it to work. We also considered a few factors that, if applied rightly, will go a long way to strengthen a relationship. Here, we will yet move further to drop a few nuggets that people in relationship should have in handy to help their relationship to grow.
Each time there is a breach in communication or a misunderstanding of intentions, there may be challenges in the relationship. This is why communication should be a very potent tool you should hold if you want your relationship to last. To know what your partner likes, wants, dislikes, etc, you do not have to assume, all you need to do it to communicate with them, ask questions and your answers will be right in front of you.

One of the greatest banes of any relationship is for one partner to assume something while the other one assumes another thing. One thing with assumption is that you might think you have enough evidences to be right but you might end up being very wrong and by that time, you have already created a wrong impression or may have even taken a wrong action.
Try not to always place your actions on what your thoughts have perceived, try to ask questions where you should. In communication, also know that the manner in which you communicate and the tone itself plays more important role than the actual words. You may be making the right points but if your tone does not align favourably with your words, you might end up blowing everything up.
Just a way to remind you; because they are your partner does not automatically mean you are entitled to any and everything. When you have this in mind, you will know how to appreciate them even for a seemingly small favour. The truth is; humans are wired in such a way that our mind will subconsciously feel glad when we are appreciated for something and we will even go further to do more. Just like a popular quote has it that:
Appreciation for one is an application for more

Believe me, when your partner does something for you and you feel it is your right and therefore will not appreciate them, they may see you as an ingrate and it may not only deter them from future favours but it may begin to crack the walls of the relationship. Trust me, no one likes ingratitude. It does not cost anything to show gratitude, so why won't you use it as often as you can?
