There are times that the passage of time can happen to things, and it will fix what you have earnestly waited for. A popular adage in this part of the world expresses the fact that; "when you give a hot food a little more time, it will cool down and you can eat it well." This proves that patience is a fundamental requirement in the journey of life. There are many things that a lot of people are dying to get and have been pursuing after, but with a little patience, that same thing will begin to pursue after them. In life, you have to recognise when you need to apply patience because it is a vital necessity.

During the infancy days of mobile phones in this part of the world, a lot of people did all manner of unwholesome things just to be able to afford a mobile phone and to feel belonged. Worse of it all, when the Blackberry phone was launched, a lot of people saw the ownership of the phone as a major achievement in life and they would do just anything to get it. Now take a journey from that time to this present time, you will discover that even the Blackberry has not made it to the front door, and having a phone just seemed like any other normal thing. Now what changed? Obviously, time changed.

When a farmer cultivates some seeds in his farmland, there is a necessity for him to give the seeds some time to go through the process of germination, sprouting, growing, flowering, and then fruiting, before it can be ready to be harvested. If the required time is not observed and the farmer goes to pull out the plant, he will lose the future fruits. In the same way, in life, processes are bound by time. That is, anything that you want to achieve will have to pass through certain time to come to full maturity.

Even in business for example, when you invest, you may not begin to see the profits immediately (depending on the nature of the business), some may take a while to mature, and in that period, you have to exercise patience. The truth is that anything not done at its right time, even though it is the right thing, may not deliver as required. When a woman conceives, for example, there is a required gestation period (typically 9 months) that the woman has to wait before delivery. If the woman delivers at a time way earlier than the expected time of delivery, the result may be premature and may have to be put in an incubator with its attendant risks.

There are some risks, in life, that can be easily avoided if one learns to pay attention to timing. Understanding of time is a very necessary thing in order to succeed. I know someone that will normally not do anything when there is ample time to do it until the last minute, and he will begin to do "last minute rush." No wonder he has not made so much impact in his life even with the privileges he has by virtue of his background. The truth is that, by understanding time and aligning yourself properly to it, you will discover that you do not need extra privileges to make it in life - time itself is a very big added advantage.

The solution to some problems lie in time. For example; no matter how you wish, you cannot convert the night to morning before the due time. Imagine waking up at 1:00am in the middle of the night and wish for it to be day time - obviously it will not work out that way. But if you give it about 6 hours from that time, you will not have to wish again, because time would have fixed it. Similarly, just by having patience, a lot of problems can be solved. However, one should know that having patience is not equal to one wasting their time. You have to know the difference.

What you do while waiting, will determine if what you are having is patience or just wasting your time. As a farmer for example; while waiting for the maturity of your crops, you will not fold your hands and do nothing; you will weed your farm, apply fertiliser, water it, etc, to ensure maximum yield, and to make the wait worth it. Remember this; time can only be an advantage if you use it wisely.
