In more times than none, things that are worthwhile are done differently and with different approaches. You will agree with me that "changes" are among the inevitables and necessities of life. When you take a look at the world around you, you will discover that, compared to the recent past, a lot of things have changed, methods are upgraded, procedures are altered, and new trends emerge. If this is so, then you are not expected to keeping using the old solution to solve a new challenge, you have to give room for flexibility of approaches. Flexibility is among the vital requirements of success.

If you require success in life, then you should follow one very strict rule, which is; "always be flexible in your approach at all times." You have to know that the world is not a case of "as it was in the past, it will continue the same way till the future." The truth is that the same methods that worked for you in the time past may not be sufficient to proffer solution to the present day challenge. This is why you need to always allow for changes. Over time, there may be an improvement in the requirements that are needed to achieve a particular thing.
When you have created an idea that you want to fulfil or a dream you want to achieve, this may be constant, because it is like your destination. However, your plans, methods, processes, and procedures should be dependent on what will work per time, and as such, should be dynamic. If you discover that a particular procedure is not pointing you towards your desired direction, you should not keep wasting time on the procedure hoping that it will work someday. What you will do is to try out other methods. It is worthy to note that you cannot keeping following after the old and outdated methods and expect to get a result that is up to par.
It does not matter how you progress in a wrong path, you are not guaranteed arrival at your destination. I remember a time when I was going to a particular location to meet a friend of mine. While enroute, I discovered that the route I was to go through was struck by heavy traffic. So I thought to myself that there are more than one way to get to this place and I just need to find out which one is freer. I took a particular turn which I thought was the right path and after progressing a bit on it, I discovered that it was not the right path, so I had to change and align properly to the right path.
When I found the right road and went through it, I arrived at the destination quick. If I had continued on the first road, the heavy traffic would have delayed the journey extensively. Then if had continued on the second road which was obviously wrong, I would have missed out completely from arriving at my desired destination. However, because I was flexible in my approach and knew when to switch, it helped me to get to my destination. In the same way in life, when you want to achieve a thing or get a task done and you find out that the way you are going about it does not seem to work, then the onus is laid on you to change it.

One of the banes of a lot of people is that they are following life strictly and patterning themselves in a straitjacketed way towards a particular opinion or format. I remember where I worked before, an elderly man walked in to get a service done, and when I was about to get started, he told me that I should do it in a particular way. Weirdly enough, that particular method has already become obsolete because it was so slow, time-consuming, energy-sapping, and prone to errors. I had to explain to him that times have changed and there are other ways of getting the same task done in a better and quicker way. When I got to work, I was able to deliver quicker than he imagined. It was then that he leant about flexibility of approach. If I went by his ways, I would have slept on the task
Most times, what deters people from achieving their goal is not because the goal is impossible, but it may be the reason that borders on procedures. If you do not get the process right, then the end-result will be greatly affected. Always have in mine that the process you used to arrive at a result holds a great deal of importance as the result itself. This is because it is the "means" that gives credence to the "end."
