A lot of people have various dreams, goals and aspirations in life, but the question is how many of them see the light of the day? The power of imagination is one of the free gifts that are delivered by nature, and as a result of this, dreaming becomes easy and setting of goals become possible, but just like every other thing in life, there is a need for actions to back up your thoughts for it to deliver the required result. I will say that dreams do come true but it is entirely dependent on the person. That is, how they have put in the effort to pursue after their dreams.

A very practical example happened when I was growing up. In the neighbourhood I stayed before, two young boys had dreams of becoming professional footballers. Of course, they were always talking about it and it became part of their fantasies. Both of them did not have sponsors, so it would not be that one had a fair advantage over the other However, one thing happened. The boys within the community organised a local inter-street match. One of the boys was eager to join the match, while the other looked at it as being below par - and that it was not the kind of football he wanted to play.

The other guy that decided to play was selected as part of their street team and even begged the other guy to join him but he refused saying it was too degrading. On the day of the competition, because of how local the football competition was, they could not even afford a decent pitch, so they use the roadside for it. They had only one ball, which got bursted during the match and was hurriedly patched, and the game continued. It was like everything was negatively working against them, but the competition continued.

While they were playing, a car drove pass, stopped and was looking out from the window, but they did not take much notice of it. Little they they know that he is the head coach of the state's football club. He got interested in the match and picked interested in the guy and admired his leg work. At the end of the match, he approached him and introduced himself, and asked if he would like to play for them. His dreams were already face-to-face with him. Right there, he affirmed and he was booked for a session the next week. After the session, he was signed by the club and his dream came true.

At the expiration of his contract with them, he got a juicy offer from one of the well-known European football clubs and that was how his story changed. From the story of the two guys, both of them had a fair opportunity to make their dreams come true but while one decided to take steps to start from where he was, the other was waiting to start big and never started. This teaches the lesson that in life, it does not matter how you start (you might start very small) but keep putting in constant efforts towards your dream and it will come true.

The truth is that it is better to start small from where you are and keep growing, than to keep waiting to start with a giant stride and end up not taking any step. One of the major undoings of a lot of people is the fact that they keep thinking and thinking without acting, and then they want everything to be delivered onto their laps. If you do not act towards your dreams, they will end up as being just dreams. Wishes do not get dreams fulfilled, neither do thoughts make them to come true, only actions can substantiate them and make them to be fulfilled.

We have all been encouraged to dream big, especially from motivational speakers. Yes, it is good to dream big because big dreams can drive the enthusiasm and zeal in us, but one thing is certain, no matter how big the dream may be, you will still need to work it out if you want it to be fulfilled.
