There are some tasks that you cannot complete alone or rather, you may not get quickly and efficiently done on your own, but when you get collaboration, it will become easier. This is because of the limitations of your individual strength. When you combine your strength with others, it will become amplified. Take this instance, no matter how you want to use a stick of broom to sweep your house, it will be practically impossible and will waste your whole time without making progress, but when you combine that singular stick of broom with other sticks of broom, they will form a bunch and the job will be easier to be done. Team work.

In a football match for example, it is not always the side that assembles the best players that wins but the side that forms a good team. There was a football competition I once watched in this part of the world. It was an inter-state competition. A few months before the competition, a particular team was formed to be part of it. Because of the limited time, the coach had to assemble players from street soccer, with almost no professional experience. A lot of people thought that the team was just used to fill the gap and they will not win any match.

Their first game was against the winners of the last season's tournament, so everyone expected them to be trashed. But contrary to what everyone thought, the match ended with a goalless draw. The joy was as if they have won the championship. When the coach was interviewed, he simply told them that they are in the competition as a "team," not as players. No wonder they were able to hold the former winners to a goalless draw. How amazing. Their next match was slated and by then, they have already built more confidence.

During the match, everyone was cooperating with each other and no one was selfish with the ball. Again, they put up amazing performance and won by two goals. This sent shock wave to everyone because no one had expected them to go that far, judging by the fact that they were not professionals. The amazing thing was that they kept that way and finished from the group stage and progressed into the round of 16 and even made their way to the semis. This goes to prove that when you are working as a team, there is almost nothing that will be impossible to be achieved.

In order to draw out the benefits from a team that you are part of, you have to see each of the team members as being unique and equally important. One of the major undoings of many is to think that a particular team member is more important than others. This will simply discourage others from giving their best, and when the whole functionality will rest on that singular person, they will crack under pressure. Take this instance; no matter how talented Messi or Ronaldo is, if they play together with an uncooperative and unresponsive team, they will struggle with futility without making impact. Note:

Even if you are the best player, you cannot play in all wings at the same time, so cooperate with others.

In order to make your team to achieve more, you have to know that the success of the team lies in the hands of all the team members. If you are aware of this, then you will appreciate everyone's input. There is a kind of encouragement that comes into the mind of someone to do more when their former efforts are appreciated. But it is the direct opposite if their efforts are neglected. Note this: no matter how a team member may look, their effect is neither irrelevant nor insignificant. In the human body for example, the mouth may be small but it is not insignificant. Imagine if it refuses to take in food, the whole body will feel weak. But if the whole body work today, the individual will be healthy. This same thing also applies to a team. You only achieves more when you learn to work together as a team. I will conclude with this popular quote about team:

T: Together
E: Everyone
A: Achieves
M: Most.
