Hello everyone! How are you all doing? I hope you all are doing great.
My today’s post is going to be kind of lengthy and has a lot of processes but I hope you guys will have the patience to enjoy the process of this illustration.
Now we come to the part where I ask you guys about pancakes. So do you like pancakes? Also if you do what do you guys prefer with your pancakes or do you like them just the way they are? In my case, I like them with cream and honey, not maple syrup. I don’t like them much with my pancakes. So let’s begin and let me tell you guys this illustration was done in Autodesk.
First I drew a stack of pancakes stacking up using the ‘color builder’ tool. Now I will show you the process of the pancake details below.
First, in a layer, I put it in multiplied effect to create a darker shade to make a shadow on lower pancakes using the ‘flow airbrush’ tool. Then in another layer, I put it in multiplied effect again and use a little bit darker shade than the shadow color. I am doing this to show the cooked part of the pancakes.
For this, I used the ‘wet frayed bristles’ tool to give a nice shade of uneven burn or more like a cooked part look on the pancakes. Now I used the ‘speckled’ tool to show the freckles on the pancakes. You know the uneven look of the pancakes.
Then I drew a plate with the ‘color builder’ tool and also gave a little shadow of the plate. Next, I would be adding some fruits maybe some berries.
So here we have some blueberries. I will be showing the process of the details of the blueberries below.
This part was easy. In here first I put the new layer in the screen effect using the same color as the berries and then I used the ‘dusty airbrush’ tool to shade the berries. At last, I used the ‘color builder’ tool to draw the calyx of the berries. Now as the berries are done, I decide to make another fruit that is strawberries.
Yes I know it doesn’t look anything like strawberries but after adding details to it is going to look like strawberries which you guys will see below.
Now it looks like the strawberries, first in a layer I put it in multiplied effect and then used the ‘flow airbrush’ tool to shade. Then in another, I put it in screen effect using the same tool I added highlights or you can say lighter shade on the strawberries. At last, I couldn’t find the perfect tool to draw the strawberry seeds so I used the ‘speckled’ tool to make the seeds. Then I drew the honey pouring scene on the pancakes part.
As you guys can see it's very light and transparent that’s because honey is see-through even if it does look anything like honey but it’s okay. I will be showing the process of the details of the honey below.
Now there is some honey! Again the repeated the same process as before, first in another new layer I put it in multiplied effect to shade the honey using the ‘flow airbrush’ tool. Then again in another layer put it in screen effect to give a lighter shade to the honey using the same tool. Also drew a few white lines on the honey to add the shine to the honey drip. Next, we need some butter.
Eek! Oh no, we can’t just put the butter just anywhere we need a plate and a butter knife.
Ta-da! Next, I want to add some cream but there is nowhere to put it. Mmmh! Maybe if I put it in a bowl.
We have the bowl now we can put the cream here.
Let me put a spoon so we take some while we are eating.
There it is. Done! I want to change the background hope you guys don’t mind.
