- The experience of mystery is a mystery of mystery. There are those who receive divine revelation through spiritual enlightenment, a supernatural mental phenomenon that only a few people can enjoy.
Among patients with temporal lobe epilepsy, some have experienced this. Because of the high transcendental thinking power in the temporal lobe, sometimes the childhood memories, hallucinations and illusions are heard, and the sound of music that has not been heard before is heard and the sermon of Jesus is heard. All information originally received through human sensory organs is transmitted to the cerebral central nervous system and analyzed and entered into experience. Especially, it is connected to the hippocampus in the cerebrum and information is obtained, analyzed and equilibrium is maintained between emotion and recognition.
The brain at least memorizes what it once saw in an unconscious form. It is the hippocampus that stores the memory. You can later retrieve the memory from the storage depot by any need. Serotonin, a neurotransmitter, controls the action of the hippocampus during the recognition and analysis of information.
In patients with temporal lobe epilepsy, the lack of serotonin secretion is insufficient to recognize and analyze information. Even when taking LSD, serotonin function is also inhibited, leading to transcendental experiences like those of pre-temporal patients.
In addition to drug use, there is a method that can inhibit serotonin conduction. For example, marathon racers temporarily become serotonin deficient in the cerebrum due to excessive consumption of serotonin, resulting in temporary extreme mental excitement after the marathon race and engage in hallucinations.
When you meditate deeply, or pray quietly while praying hard, and fasting and taking care of your life, serotonin inhibition also occurs.
There is an outer world in which there are existential beings, and an inner world filled with all thoughts and memories, but these two worlds are clearly separated. However, when the function of serotonin is limited, the external world and the inner world are mixed and immersed in the pre-existing mental state.
For example, it is like realizing the harmony of heaven and earth like the high priests and the saints and the Zen Buddhist monks who have the ghosts. Among the people who have had a premiere experience, there are a lot of nursing patients.
Dostoevsky, the head of Russia, was a former carer. The Dutch paintings of Impressionist Gogh are lively and vital. Koho was an epileptic patient and was admitted to a mental hospital. Because he was mentally ill, Koho cut his own one ear and gave it to a prostitute. The doctor diagnosed epilepsy as the diagnosis of Koho. Then doctors diagnosed Koho's disease as mental paranoidism, depression, and so on. Byron (1788-1824), an English romantic poet who had a great influence on modern European literature as a heroist liberal, was also an epileptic.
There are many epileptic patients among geniuses.
