My entry for the #monomadchallenge.

For this round, I did the tourist thing while in Evantson, IL. I stood on the campus of Northwestern, Green Bay Packer winter hat engaged, and found a concrete pier to watch the waves. The waves were generated by the Great Lake of Michigan; everyone passed by staring at me taking photos of the lake's waves. Hey, what can I do? I'm just a Mississippi River kind of guy, you know?

Have I mentioned before how much I love the Great Lakes? First and foremost, I could easily live in a van on the Lake Superior shoreline for the rest of my life. I love that lake so much. A close second would have to be Lake Michigan. It's not as vast as Superior, but for us land dwellers, the lakes are like the ocean to us.

All in all, it was worth playing the part of a tourist. Yeah, I got some looks from the Northwestern kids and parents, but I can take it. I think I can take it, anyway...
