For this #beersaturday adventure, I headed to our downtown area this afternoon. After a full day of dad daycare at the house, I needed a break. So I jumped in the CRV at 3:30 and went to the local used book store downtown to check things out.

I love our local used bookstore! I have heard that the bookstore is so popular that people will literally check in at a hotel for a few nights just to take in the store's inventory. There are so many good books here...you never know where to start.

There were a lot of books that called my name, but there were only two that I ended up getting. That meant it was time to head over to the Bodega for a beer or two.

The first one was a Stone Brewey Hazy IPA; not the best, fairly dull, and no head. I slugged that one down and went for something more interesting on the second round. Hence the Waking Witch....

This one is a strong one! An imperial black ale at over 8.3% ABV; I knew I could only have one. There is a Packers game coming on shortly, after all...

Yum and yum. I a bit too smokey with the malts, but I could feel the alcohol. Thank goodness I only had one; three of these would have made me take an Uber back home.

I'm curious about the books, too, but I will give the beer 3.5/5.0. It's ok, but a bit too smokey for my liking. I have yet to find a smoked malt beer I really enjoy...

Thanks for stopping by for my #beersaturday adventure. I'll have a follow up on the books soon; oh yeah, GO PACK GO...
