When I think of the natural beauty of Bangladesh, the first thing that comes to my mind is the view of Tanguar Haor in Sunamganj. Especially during the rainy season, the appearance of this haor takes on a magical dimension. When I see the water filled to the brim and the vast expanse of water, it feels like I am standing in front of a huge water canvas of nature. Not only the people of the country, but many tourists from abroad also come here due to this enchanting beauty.
Last week we rented a houseboat to enjoy the real beauty of Tanguar Haor and the aquatic life up close. The cost of the houseboat was about four thousand taka per person. This cost included staying in the haor for two days and all the great food and drink arrangements. The feeling of floating on the water, sitting on the roof of the boat, enjoying the cool breeze of the haor and seeing the peaceful surroundings is truly indescribable.
Along with the Tanguar Haor tour, we also visited some wonderful places near it. The beautiful magical river flows along the side of the haor. The clear water of the river calms anyone's mind. In addition, there is a dazzlingly beautiful place known as the 'Switzerland of Bengal' nearby. The wonderful combination of mountains and water makes the place truly seem like a foreign fantasy kingdom.
After enjoying the beauty of this haor in Sunamganj and its surroundings, our next destination was the white stones of Bholaganj in Sylhet. The white stones area is another wonderful wonder of nature. There are countless white stones scattered all around and the ice-cold clear water coming down from the mountains over it. There we all took a bath together with great joy. After soaking in that cool water, all the fatigue of our journey seemed to be washed away in an instant.
After bathing, we looked around. Now many small and big shops have been established in the white stones area for the convenience of tourists. The shops here are especially full of interesting Indian products. Starting from chocolates to cosmetics, there are various kinds of items arranged there. We looked around and also bought some of our own choice.
All in all, from the life of the houseboat in the vast waters of Tanguar Haor to the softness of the white stones of Sylhet鈥攖his entire trip has made a permanent place in my mind. If I get the chance, I will want to go back again and again to see this unique beautiful form of nature.
