Yesterday we harvested our small paddy field. I don't know anything about agriculture but know to adopt other farmer's activities. This is the first time I have watched the complete process of a paddy field.
Very sad to say, a lot of chemicals in the form of fertilizers and insecticides. I never thought people were doing this many things to our food crops.
I refused to spray the insecticide except one time. Every other sprayed the chemical three times with some interval, somebody mixed more than the recommended dose.
After the harvest I met with a great loss comparing to others, insects sucked all my grains, and only the shell was there. The quantity of the loss is huge in percentage wise comparing others. I have a little land so the damage is little, which is expected by me.
If this happens to bigger field areas, the loss will be more, people are doing this to withstand the economical balance because the rate given by the merchants is not reasonable.
Government is taking some steps to encourage the organic farming but practically it is difficult for many reasons. If anyone is trying to follow the organic method in between the farmers, he will have to face all the flying insects from other farms which flee from there due to chemicals, all will gather in the organic farm and eat well...
The birds founds nothing to eat because nothing is living there. Normally a lot of birds will go around the field to catch some food but now few birds with a failed attempt of having a feast. May be inexperienced guys...
