Imagine if pirates attended group therapy instead of committing crimes. That's Our Flag Means Death. Every character is either having a personal breakthrough, a complete meltdown, or both simultaneously. Somehow it's the most emotionally healthy show about murder I've ever seen.
My personal favorite character Stede is played by (previous role band manager of the Flight of the Conchords) none other than Rhys Darby in this absolutely hilarious show about a well to do rich man who leaves his wife and children to become a pirate.
The gentleman pirate as he likes to call himself has a perilous life of piracy to live out as he encounters many trials, tests and tribulations of the high seas and criminality.
Can this pompous and pampered rich man endure the painful realizations of life as a pirate or will he change the entire way of piracy and become a legend?
