To be honest, I've been looking for a new social network for some time. Tired of Facebook, Twitter's for work, and other blockchain-based or -adjacent networks range from deserts to cesspools. Granted, I've only been on Ecency and Peakd for the better part of a couple hours but the experience so far is pretty darn good.
The thing I really like so far is that, yes, it's crypto- and blockchain-reliant, but not every last post is about crypto.
Perhaps I'll share some thoughts at some point regarding the UX and the assumptions made of the user (it's part of my day job, after all), but for now I'm just happy to find a place that puts value on original, creative content and community.
Now, speaking of community, time to go poking around!
